CALL FOR PAPERS

The Inter-American Defense College (IADC) extends an invitation to all who would like to contribute scientific articles for the periodical published by our center for advanced studies.

Hemisferio, the official IADC magazine, is devoted to promoting research in areas related Western Hemispheric security and defense. It is an annual publication, which is non-profit and presents a multidisciplinary approach, associated with the College advanced studies program.

The broad spectrum of subject areas contributes to the analysis of security and defense related challenges from diverse perspectives including: Strategic Thinking, International Relations, Political Economy, Future Studies Methodologies, Geopolitics, Human Rights, Civil-Military Relations, Multidimensional Security, Cybersecurity, Defense and Security Policies, Development, Leadership, and Conflict Analysis and Resolution.

Once the articles have been sent via email, you will receive a confirmation notification. Submissions that comply with the previously stated editorial standards will undergo a blind peer review and the applicants will be informed of the final decision within 30 days.

Information for authors

Editorial policy at Hemisferio requires that all submissions for publication be original and unpublished texts, and each author is responsible for not incurring any liability associated with falsifying or copying data that may compromise the authenticity of the research. The submissions for publication must also comply with the following editorial standards:

  1. The title of the article must be submitted in upper and lowercase text (without the full text in uppercase) and the executive summary should be less than 150 words.
  2. Include up to 5 key words after the summary.
  3. Use 8.5″ x 11″ size paper.
  4. Use “Times New Roman” 12-point font, with 1.5 spacing.
  5. Notes (citations) use simple spacing, “Times New Roman” 10- point font. (Only the first line of each citation should be indented 0.25”).
  6. Both the bibliography and the citations should follow the Chicago Style of references (see the enclosed Chicago Style Guide).
  7. The articles submitted can be in English, Spanish, Portuguese, or French.
  8. Articles should be between 5,000 and 8,000 words long.

Authors must complete the letter of authorization and accept the rules of publication, as well as the code of ethics.
